Introducing the Resources on the National Archives and Library of Congress Website

The Internet is an amazing, and powerful tool for educators and students of all ages. The limitless possibilities of what it can do for education is yet to be seen.

Federal agencies have wonderful resources available online for educators and students. From history to science, primary and secondary sources from these agencies have been incorporated into the websites, providing a rich resource to supplement your curriculum.

This workshop introduces you to the National Archives and Records Administration website, incorporating several areas of the website, including the Federal Register, online resources from the Still Picture division, the new resources from Motion picture, sponsored by Google, and the resources in the ARC (Archival Research Catalog). The Library of Congress in 1995 established the National Digital Library Grant program, which gave birth to the American Memory collections. With over 8 million primary and secondary sources available online, along with lesson plans, this site is a must for not only educators and students, but life long learners.

Navigational tips, downloading tips, and searching tips will be shared. This is a hands on workshop. This workshop requires a computer lab setting.
